I like LL Bean outlets in general. I have noticed that the prices are not as low as I might have expected for an outlet. I recently returned some good I purchased in order to re-buy them online from their site. The sale was actually as good, better for some purchases, than the outlet. They staff in the Bangor facility are excellent and their policies are enough to recommend shopping there anytime. They do provide a place to examine some products in person like canoes or kayaks. They have a large selection of clothing and shoes, some furniture, lots of camping paraphernalia, some luggage and smaller bags. The store is clean and accessible. It's always worth a look.

After this experience I decided to go over to Sam's Club and pick up a Swiss gear backpack for only $40 and it's definitely a better quality than the L.L. Bean products and comes with a five year warranty which I'm sure they actually follow!

This isn't so much the Bangor location as it is my entire overall experience with L.L. Bean since Aug. I purchased a school backpack as a surprise for my son entering kindergarten, I placed an order for the original backpack but received a toddler backpack instead. Upon returning the order to the Bangor location I attempted to purchase a deluxe version which was almost doubled in price as the original bag. No biggie. Well, they messed up that order as well. Another return that took 55 minutes at the Bangor location because they didnt know how to do the gift card over the phone..No biggie.. Until I didnt even get a backpack that time.. Instead I got a phone call saying they sent the backpack to the wrong address and were terribly sorry for all the inconvenience and would refund all my gift cards and just send me a free backpack. That back pack came in the mail Tuesday and its STILLLL after all this time not what I wanted. They messed up on the monogram. I made a quick phone call to check my gift cards noticing that one of them had a zero balance. They replaced that through an email. Another card I tried to use said there was a balance but when I went on the website to use it, it said $0!!! I called customer service and spoke to 2 different incredibly rude people who acted as though I was trying to rip them off... Needless to say I'm really disappointed with LL Bean. what I thought was going to be one little exciting thing for my son turned into a hot hot mess on your behalf. Rude customer service and completely unorganized!!! I wouldn't even give you one star!

They have SCAMMED me out of the almost hundred dollars for the backpack and then the additional cost to buy a backpack from another company

Their return policy is a SCAM, their prices are OUT RAGES, and, the quality is SUBPAR!

When you do business with this Company you're not guaranteed lifetime quality you are guaranteed a headache and being treated as if you are a common criminal when you are trying to just to take advantage of something that they agreed to when you gave them an out rages amount of money for their product!

Bean backpack it became simply unusable among many other problems the backpack had developed over the years when one of the two zippers completely broke. The item was purchased new for me from the L.L. Bean store in Bangor Maine so I returned to the store to take advantage of their guarantee. Upon entering the store they had no replacement back packs of comparable style/size so my intention was not to even replace the backpack that day I just wanted an estimate of how much money on an L.L. Bean gift card I would get to replace it and to find out if there was any way they could order me the backpack while at the same time allowed me to keep the other backpack since I do need something to keep my stuff in the meantime. Upon this the cashier started searching all pockets for something and informed me it was missing a tag. I explain to the cashier there never was a tag I never attempted to remove the tag and that there is no evidence that there ever was a tag that was removed! Like I said before this backpack was purchased new! They proceeded to ask for names of people that could've purchased the item my mother was with me so she gave her name and interestingly enough there was no record forever purchasing anything before the year of 2016 definitely not the five year backpack so we proceed to get my grandmother's name who is a frequent L.L. Bean customer and has been an L.L. Bean credit card holder for at least the past 30 years receives flyers at her house frequently buys and return items at her local stores in Connecticut frequently purchases whenever in Maine and even shops online! But yet not in the system! What a LIE! After this we begin to get rather angry and additional staff come over to see what is happening they all start treating us as if we are criminals and are attempting to steal from them! What in the world is wrong with someone trying to return something and follow up on the policy which they were guaranteed when purchasing they didn't guarantee me it would last for a day they guaranteed me my lifetime! Why in the world do I need to keep a receipt for what they're going to be guaranteeing me is a lifetime? Why is it my fault your computer system is a lie and doesn't record anything? The build quality of their items is pitiful! The inability to be able to follow their own lifetime guarantee is ridiculous if they don't want to follow it get rid of it! Stop charging outrageous prices for junk and start to get reasonable prices! I've had similar experiences at the Ellsworth store as well! I have never had a good experience with L.L. Bean!

Didn't like the misleading advertising in the store. Signs said men's pants 70% off but jeans turned out to be 40% off. Guess jeans aren't pants to them.

I've spent thousands here over the year, used to have amazing customer service. I bought all of my gear and equipment here to hike the Appalachian trail. I went in today dissatisfied with a product and was told they couldn't find my receipt so they wouldn't help me out.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
