Shaw's has gone through a lot in this area. At one time they were open 24 hours a day. They had a mall area location but now they are only on Main street. They've always offered a slightly different selection than Hannaford's, which made them a nice alternative and they have various programs with rewards or promotional items. I've recently noticed that the produce department is providing a better service; fresher produce, organic alternatives and a greater selection of local fruits and vegetables. The bakery is good, they have a sushi station adjoining the meat department. My son and I have tried their food and it's not bad for supermarket sushi. The meat department provides a quality product and good service. They have a natural food section in both dry goods and frozen. Shaw's has a hot food section and a good deli. The store is generally clean and the staff helpful and knowledgeable. I'm handicapped, so I used the in-store-use mobility carts. They have two, they are not always in good repair or properly charged but I think this is primarily due to the users. The staff does try to keep them charged. Shaw's is a place I would recommend to others for all these reasons and the fact that it's accessible and easy to find.
Love there deli and bakery items! Friendly workers and great deals! Wish this store was available closer to were I live in Downeast Maine!
They were out of a lot of the gluten free stuff that was on sale. I also had to beg my own groceries because there was no bagger.
Good shopping experience. Bonus games. Good quality food.
Store was not very neat, I was there on a Wednesday when most managers are scheduled off. Has a much better selection of natural and organic items then Hannaford. The produce department was in good condition with good looking items. Frozen organic section was not well stocked, a lot of empty spots. Checkout was busy, but they opened up registers, so went quick. The packer was going to put 2 liter bottles on top of the bread and eggs if I didn't catch it.
