I love makeup, so this place is fabulous in my book. Before visiting this store, I had purchased from Sephora online. This was my second visit ever to this specific location. The associate that helped me was very knowledgeable about the different products that they sold and could make recommendations based on my questions, preferences, and needs. Will definitely return.
Great service
I live 3 hours away from Bangor and I just happened to be traveling there on the last day of the VIB sale on November 15th. I am a makeup and skincare junkie so needless to say I was excited to be shopping in store instead of online. I received great service until I was ready to check out. I had a product with receipt to return. The employee told me she was doing me a favor in accepting the return because it is their policy that it has to be within 60 days of purchase. I didn't question her because she was agreeing to complete the return. However afterward I looked at my receipt and it had been 50 days- so it was within the appropriate time frame. I also had a mobile gift card and of course my VIB sale discount. She asked if I was a VIB and I said yes. She pulled up my credentials. I assumed she was going to give me the VIB discount. She took the return value off my purchase and inputted my mobile gift card (which was no easy task). When I saw the total I realized she had not given me the discount. I asked her about the VIB sale. She looked at me like I had 5 heads. She said that I was going to have to show her my email coupon which I pulled up in 10 seconds. Her entire demeanor changed. She was fuming! She told me she had to start my transaction over and she made no secrets that she wasn't happy about it. It's not like the store was crazy busy. She was the only employee there however her job was to service the customer. It certainly soured my in store experience that I was looking forward to. I drop a healthy amount of money at Sephora and felt like I was being treated as a nuisance. Sephora inside JCP at Bangor may want to review some no brainer areas of customer service with their employees. It certainly discouraged me from shopping in store which I feel is extremely important.
