The staff were very helpful and friendly. A complimentary USA Today on weekdays. They also let us leave our motorcycles off to the side under the front overhang. Much appreciated.
This is an older building. It doesn't have an elevator and the hallways can be quite long, so it can be longer and more strenuous to unload your bags and get them to your room.
This is one of the best hotels in Bangor for the price. The entire building is dated, it's early 1980s and in need of some modernization, although the room we got (the jacuzzi suite) looks like it was renovated not too long ago.
The staff at the Front Desk were nice. That's pretty much it. Rooms weren't clean, had to change to a second room, Bed sheets were OLD. Hallway smelled like cigarette. Floors were dirty. Breakfast was mediocore. Won't stay here again.
The service was about average for a hotel, and that being said it was decent. We didn't do the complimentary breakfast or go to the restaurant on site so I don't have anything to say about those.
The breakfast was a hot, buffet style, with tasteless scrambled eggs both mornings. One morning there was also pancakes which weren't a much better choice. The other morning there were French toast which was slightly better. The pool area is quite nice.
My only one other complaint is the door locks they use are really unresponsive and just a poor quality product. Takes several tries sometimes to get the doors to unlock.
The rooms were reasonably well maintained, but housekeeping was not up to what we've come to expect in a major hotel chain (the shampoo bottles weren't full ... reused?)
The pool is unusually 9 feet deep on the deep end and very clean except the changing room connected to the pool is sketchy. Really needs to be repaired.
We booked two adjoining rooms 2 weeks prior to Nov 2 , 2017 and stayed 3 nights. I called to confirm to make sure that we had two adjoining rooms just 2 days before we were due to arrive. When we got there we were told that it was not their policy to book adjoining rooms and that we would have to take separate rooms away from each other. Since we paid for our rooms when we first booked, we had no choice but take what they gave us. The staff on the front desk, could care less and the manager was even worse. We are seniors and they did not even try to fix the problem. You can be assured that we will never return!
Great location for a mid travel stop over. Wifi is better than most places I've stayed. But all the post I've read about the out dated appearance is spot on. My room is however clean and most of all the is very controllable and comfortable. It is a very affordable price appropriate hotel .
