Was flying to Halifax , Canada fron New York, USA. Our plan diverted to Bangor and let us off. We had to find our own way to Canada. Only car company that would let us rent a car and travel across border was National. Thank You. Saved the day. We were stranded.
There didn't seem to be a large enough inventory to accommodate everyone, and perhaps there was an event going on in Bangor that saw an uptick in renters . . . I don't know. That said, the woman at the counter was very friendly and willing to get me closer to the vehicle of my choice (as an Emerald Club member) with just a short wait. 3.5 stars is more accurate.

While I am used to flying into major airports and seeing 24/7 rental car desk staffing, the system set up at National's Bangor desk was relatively simple check-in at 5am for my 7am flight and follow-up correspondence that all was taken care of. Very well done.
Efficient pick up and drop off along with the free upgrade to a SUV for a better price than other rental companies is why I'll continue to use National as my preferred car rental company.
